Daffodil Walk dates for 2017

This year the walks will be available from Wednesday 29th March to Sunday 9th April inclusive.

Guided walks will be available every morning at 10:30 am, and self walks from 10 am to 4 pm.  Guided Walks in the afternoon are available by special arrangement for pre-booked  groups.

The daffodil crop and quality will be very good owing to the amount of rainfall. Lots more bulbs have been planted for this flowering season, and the fairies have been making new dresses ready to welcome children young and old.

December Update

The daffodils are a little slow this year owing to the dry season, but I suspect we will get plenty of rain in the next few weeks and I’m sure that everything will be flowering in time for open days – see the walks page for details of times and dates as soon as we have those for 2017.

Lots more bulbs have been planted down in the woods and also new plantings in the clover field, so there will be many more flowers to see this coming season.

The tree fairies are hibernating at the moment but will be ready to welcome all children, young and old, in the spring.

Daffodil Walks are open for 2016

It’s the first day of the daffodil walks today, a fantastic turnout, the weather was kind. We had visitors from far afield today who’ve travelled down to see something different.

A general update for those wondering – we have suffered only a little bit of damage from Storm Katie, daffodils are remarkably resilient, and there’s a multitude of new daffodils to come out right now.

The early varieties are still holding out (all that water keeps them happy!), and the main middle crop is coming out now – it looks like it’s going the be a bumper crop this year. The Flower Record are full of buds for next live roulette canada week, and it’s bound to be a grand show!

The home-made cakes are excellent, and the fairies have had a spring clean and are ready for visitors. Come down and join us between now and the 10th April!

If you’ve already been and enjoyed your visit – follow us at the Daffodil Walks page on Facebook too (share the pics and leave your comments!)
