Daffodil Walks are open for 2016

It’s the first day of the daffodil walks today, a fantastic turnout, the weather was kind. We had visitors from far afield today who’ve travelled down to see something different.

A general update for those wondering – we have suffered only a little bit of damage from Storm Katie, daffodils are remarkably resilient, and there’s a multitude of new daffodils to come out right now.

The early varieties are still holding out (all that water keeps them happy!), and the main middle crop is coming out now – it looks like it’s going the be a bumper crop this year. The Flower Record are full of buds for next live roulette canada week, and it’s bound to be a grand show!

The home-made cakes are excellent, and the fairies have had a spring clean and are ready for visitors. Come down and join us between now and the 10th April!

If you’ve already been and enjoyed your visit – follow us at the Daffodil Walks page on Facebook too (share the pics and leave your comments!)

February Update

With many of you seeing Daffodils already in bloom around the area and in your own Gardens I have been receiving a lot of enquires about the dates for The Open days and daffodil Walks.  We have added a further 2 days at the beginning of the planned dates therefore opening from Wednesday 30th March – Sunday 10th April (Unfortunately we are unable to open over the Easter weekend prior)

Will there still  be much to see?  I hear you ask.

Indeed the Daffodils here at the farm are currently approximately 2 weeks earlier than average. But don’t worry in  the main field with the  impact,  the Daffs are only just coming through.  Having said that there appears to an abundance of buds on the early varieties with flowers lasting extremely well due to large moisture in the plants.      So what we are expecting  is that come the Open dates you will see the mid to late flowering varieties, which includes a lot of the whites and unusual. Looks like being a bumper crop!!!

Im taking bookings now for Guided Tours, 10.30am daily, £5.00 includes refreshments.  *Also if you are a group of 6 or more Len will be happy to take your group at 2pm ( We don’t schedule this in every day as we feel the Old Codger needs some time off now he’s knocking on a bit!!! ;-), again call me if you’d like to arrange this.
